Unlock The Power Of Email Marketing

Email marketing can be one of the most daunting tasks as an Etsy shop owner.

Most Etsy shop owners have this thought..

What on earth do i say to those who subscribe to my email list?

Have no fear! We are going to break down exactly what to say to get your subscribers engaged and ready to buy!

1. Find who you are talking to.

To write effective emails you have to know who you are talking to. Who is the type of person who would buy your product? What other interests do they have? What keeps them up at night? What do they search for on the internet? This will help you create the type of content you can use to draw people into your list.

2. Create a Lead Magnet.

A lead magnet is something that you can give away in exchange for their email (this is what you will use to get them on your list so that you can advertise to them again and again!) By knowing your audience, you can offer something they will love.

Here are some examples of lead magnets.

Here is a real-life example.

If your Etsy shop makes bookmarks, then a great lead magnet could be a list of the most popular books in the last 6 months. Since you know that your target audience is people who read books, why not offer them something they love?

3. Advertise the lead magnet.

Where?

Everywhere. In your shop banner, Instagram bio, Facebook page, order emails, etc.. Literally everywhere. The idea is you are giving away something for free. This means you won't look like you are begging for sales, but instead are giving away value. If your offer is right, people will jump on your list!

4. Get them to buy

This is where your sequence comes to play. A sequence is a series of emails set up to move the reader from their starting point (opting in to your list) to your endpoint (a customer).

Here is a recent Instagram post I did that breaks down what the next couple of emails should look like. Your email software sets this up on autopilot for you (if you don't have one, no worries, I will get into that later).

Here it is broken down for you

  1. Email 1 - Give your freebie away - welcome them to the community - and send them an offer for your product!

  2. Email 2 - Remind them of the offer - Share a relatable story about why you started the brand.

  3. Email 3 - Send them a video or blog that helps them see the value of your product.

  4. Email 4 - Share that the offer is going away soon and that they need to take action (include testimonials.)

  5. Email 5 - Last chance for offer!

There it is! After that, you just add them to your main email list.

Now here is a great question - What email software works best for Etsy shop owners?

So glad you asked! I actually have something for you that can download to help you out with that!

Put this together with your new email strategy and you are good to go!

Here is a quick recap

  1. Create lead magnet (should take you a few hours tops)

  2. Create 5 emails that go out to those who opt in (2 hours)

  3. Advertise your email opt in (should take an hour to put it everywhere)

  4. And chill. You will see people jumping in, but the sequence will do all the work for you!

Alright! Go get it done!
